Hingham Harbor Development Calls For Scenic Parking Spots, Boat House

Hingham resident DJ MacKinnon presented his plans for the Hingham Harbor at last Monday's selectmen meeting.

Hingham resident DJ MacKinnon presented his future plans for the Hingham Harbor to the selectmen last week.

They included an addition of 115 scenic parking spots, a bike path, a two-story boat house which would be open all year and the elimination of the Hingham rotary, according to Boston.com.

McKinnon, paid for and began a $5,000 study in December 2012 to look at long-term harbor plans.

The Hingham resident designed the plans with the Community Rowing Inc. and gained feedback from  several boating community groups, the Globe reported.

MacKinnon wants public feedback.
